Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Middlesex Fells Reservation Area. The cache is located just off a main trail which provides an easy hike in from one of the several nearby parking areas. The altitude is approx. 152', based on what I recorded.

This cache, my first, is located in the Middlesex Fells Reservation Area. It was not until my recent involvement in geocaching that I actually became truly appreciative of this treasure we call the "Fells", this is despite living only a mile or two away from the reservation for many years. One of the things I've come to enjoy about the Fells is the that it boasts many well marked and easily travelled trails. These trails provide a very family friendly means of access to several cache sites within the reservation's borders.

This particular cache location can be accessed from any one of several main trails, this includes the Reservoir Trail, the Middle Road (fire Rd.)and the Cross Fells Trail. There are several convenient parking locations located along South Border Rd. in Medford, just off Interstate Route 93 (Accessable going North or South). The hike in is no more than 0.6 miles from any of the various parking areas along South Border Road. The trail is well marked and consists mainly of well packed gravel, though there are some spots were the trail becomes more loose gravel and rocks (too difficult for small wheeled strollers). Geocachers with kids should find that children 6+ will be able to walk in just fine. The inclines are very gradual. There should be minimal bushwacking required. Really the bushwacking amounts to getting you a little off the main trail in order to avoid any muggles. I'll say about 20 feet off the trail though this does depend somewhat upon how you access the cache location.

I've decided to name the cache Good 'n Plenty and for two reasons:

1)Because I'm hoping it stays Plenty full of Good, fun and interesting swag for geocachers of all ages.
&
2) I feel that the Middlesex Fells Reservation offers geocachers a really Good hiking environment with Plenty of caching opportunities that provide even the most avid geocacher enough fun for the entire day.

The cache holds various toy trinkets, a vhs movie, some gold dollars and lots of other goodies that you'll just have to see for yourself. For the FTF there is an un-registered travel bug tag located in the bag that holds the cache log book. The log book is a pocket sized rite in the rain notebook and there is a pressurized pen in there too. Also in the bag is a small wrench, it's there because it seems to me "somebody" is always throwing a wrench into things. So "somebody", who ever you are, take your wrench back and keep it. GOOD LUCK AND GOD SPEED TO ALL.
