Geocache Description:

A small cache hidden next to this roadside attraction.

Many a Seattlite is familiar with the small chapel just outside of Monroe on the way to Steven’s Pass. The chapel on Rt. 2 is actually a replacement of the original chapel that was destroyed by vandals. The Rudy Clark family of Marblemount decided that the chapel could be salvaged and asked the Monroe Christian Reform Church if they could take it. The chapel was relocated to Marblemount, rebuilt and dedicated on June 5, 1977.

If you have time, take a peak inside the Clark Eatery across the road. The Clark family ancestors were some of the original inhabitants of Marblemount and the family still lives there. In their small restaurant across from the Wildwood Chapel they have set up a small museum full of interesting artifacts dating back to the founding of Marblemount. Outside the restaurant, the grounds are always teaming with rabbits which are a big hit for kids and adults alike.

I travel by here frequently, so please let me know if the cache needs any maintenance and I'll take care of it.
