February 2013: Many thanks to the McGeesters, who were kind enough to furnish our poor little muggled cache with a new container. We are happy to be able to continue sharing this magnificent view.
Caching allowed us to see parts of the island that we would have missed otherwise. We've hidden a cache filled with Kauai things to say "Mahalo For The Caches." Our cache is near one of the many lovely views we found on the island.
Park in the gravel pullout, and walk up the trail a short way to find the cache, which is only a few feet from the trail. No need for prolonged bushwacking. Continue up the trail a few more yards for a great view of the canyon. (Warning to parents - the viewpoint beyond the cache has plenty of room, but no guardrails.) If you have another ten minutes or so, continue along the trail for a view of the ocean.
Our cache is an olive, plastic decon container (4"x3"x2") that we won at a caching event on the mainland. Please make certain it is snapped completely shut before rehiding.
