The cache is hidden near the peak of a hill - known as The Pointer - located in the Karoo National Park 5km south of Beaufort West.
Standing with your back to the office complex and chalets, 'The Pointer' is the peak slightly to your right. The cache can be reached by taking the trail to 'The Pointer'. No mountaineering skills are required - the first few hundred metres of the trail are somewhat steep and may turn you into a heavy breather, but thereafter it is relatively easy going. It's well worth the effort - the view from the top of The Pointer is fantastic.
The cache is a 2 litre ice cream tub, and the initial contents are
- plastic toy dolphin;
- child's bangle with charm;
- multi-coloured penciln ex the cache GCH6E6 'Die Hel';
- ballpoint pen;
- log-book & pencil.
