PairOpiles #2, flat, temp parking in turn-around area.
Venture farther east around Victoria Grove from PairOpiles and you
will again be amazed by some additional unique geological
structures. It appears now that there has been another uprising and
exposure of metamorphic rock in sedimentary fashion taking
monumental form. Interestingly enough, there are 2 more structures
and both appear to have remarkable resemblance to each other. This
confirms my earlier observations of the similar rock located on the
plains just southwest of this location for a total of 6
outcroppings. This set of structures is located off McAllister.
If you check the strata layers carefully, you will find some
unsecured rock. One section of the layering on the west face has a
triangular stone worth inspecting. You will find it on the right
side near the edge as you face the west panel, chest level. Unlike
all the others, it doesn’t fit the typical types and to my
knowledge is like PairOpiles (1) still undefined. Please be
cautious in your exploration, no permits for climbing these
structures are yet available. Talus slopes and loose rocks can be
dangerous to hikers below.
Lastly, please be aware of the local inhabitants who tend to
demonstrate possessive rights over these monuments. Take all effort
to leave their rocks as you found them.
