TO REACH THE CACHE - Best approaching from the field at the top
TO REACH THE CAVE - Take the path that leads into the valley, look for slight faded path on the lest that leads to the cave
This cache is near an old cave in Heath House Woods situated in the small village of Golcar. Heath House Woods is a great valley to explore, most of the paths you will walk on are created by the horses that live in the near by fields. This cave is not known to many people. It has a very shallow trickle of water running through it but is not near the main stream in Heath House Woods. I do not know much information about this cave, so if anyone knows anything please let me know.
The old cache was far too big for this location. The cave is becoming popular with mugles, so I have moved the new cache location, it is now on the banking, just above the cave.
The cache is located in Heath House Woods which is near Heath House Mill, in between Golcar and Bolster Moor. You can access this place by parking at Golcar Lily pub and walking down the old cobbled road towards the mill then taking the 2nd public footpath on your left, and then walk down the valley heading towards the left away from the mill.
Or
You can access the valley by parking on West End Road in Golcar which is down by Colne Valley Museum. You then take the public footpath at the end of the road and walk down into the valley, head towards the right away from the mill. You will need to cross over 2 shallow streams when walking down into the valley towards the cave.
To find the cache, instead of turning right on the path to get to the mouth of the cave, follow the small faint path up though the heather. Just before you reach the top wall you will see a small oak tree on your left. The cache is there! Please re-hide after finding.
View the photos that I have uploaded of the cahe location and use them to pin point the location to the cave
Please re-hide well with sticks
