Chance Encounter Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: From the Northern Region Office, New Jersey State Parks Department:

Over a year ago New Jersey enacted a policy that all geocachers must obtain a permit to have their cache on State Park property. We have informed all geocaching host that this is their responsibility and have given them ample time to go about getting their permits. At this time, over a year later, there are still several caches that haven’t complied.

We ask that as the land managers for the attached properties we would like to have these illegal caches removed.

Based on the list provided by the state, I am forced to archive this listing. If you have a permit, get a permit or don't believe your cache is on state park/forest land, please contact me via email. Make sure you include the GC code.

If you don't plan to get a permit, please remove your geocache so it doesn't become geo-trash.

Geocache Description:

This is a "Spore Cache" from "Beenthere309's South of the Border spore cache" GCWX27 Check it out.
The mother cache contains fully stocked "Spore Caches" of all sizes for finders to take and rehide. I've been wanting to plant this cache for a while. This gave me the perfect opportunity.

Located in Wawayanda state Park off Iron Mountain trail.
You can access Iron Mountain trail from the Applachain trail or park in the main parking lot near the boat house and hike in from there. It's about a mile in. You can pick up a few other caches in the area. "A bridge to far" GCXDZ2 and "Find Brian Snats Ammo Can #8" GCXHMV are close by.

While out riding my mountain bike, I saw something that looked a little strange along the trail up ahead. As I got closer I realized it was a black and white cat. He was very thin and appeared tired and weak. I got off the bike to get a closer look. He just sat there and meowed at me. He was covered with ticks and looked as if he hadn't eaten in weeks. I started walking and he followed for a short while but quickly ran out of energy and stopped. I picked him up and carried him home. We took him to the vet and nursed him back to health. Now he is a wonderful pet. My daughter named him "Chance" because we believe I was his last chance for survival. This cache is located in the area where we had this "CHANCE" encounter.
