A fairly easy Science Fiction themed cache placed near to the Royal Observatory on Blackford Hill
Dr Who, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, War of the Worlds, Star Wars and so on...all exciting Science Fiction stories. This small cache is a tribute to some of these great works.
The cache, hidden close to the observatory contains small sci-fi related swaps and memorabilia. It was placed by one of the junior members of Manylegs who has a particular interest in this genre.
The observatory, which is built with stone from Northumberland, is also of particular interest as one of his Gt Gt Gt Grandfathers was a friend of the 3rd Astronomer Royal for Scotland, Ralph Copeland, who selected the site of and oversaw the construction of this great edifice - which officially opened for business in April 1896. Said Gtx3 grandfather visited from Birmingham for a few days in May 1896.
Free public parking is available near to the observatory at the end of the road.
Note: As can be seen from the logs, it may be necessary to dig for this one a bit - we'll leave it enabled for now and see if we can find a better location for it (given it's a busy muggle area). In the meantime I would recommend wearing gloves if searching for it. Also, when re-hiding, avoid burying it too deep if possible.
