This micro cache is hidden at the "Voortrekkerbegrafplaas" (cemetery) in Orighstad. This little town has losts of history, as this was the first "town" of the boers, before they moved south to Lydenburg. The original name of the town was Andries Orighstad. A combination of Andries Hendrik Potgieter's name and those of a dealer they met in Lorenzco Marques - Adam Origh. The stad part, I don't know - maybe they had a vision of a city growing their. Some of the trekkers died of Malaria here, which they thought was caused by the trees in the area, therefore they moved South to where Lydenburg is today.
In this small graveyard there is a memorial for the Voortrekkers and some of the original gravestones are in the oxwagon monument.
The cemetery is well maintained.
Just imagine how much easier their life's would have been if they had a GPSr to help them.
