A group of cachers have got together to arrange a visit to Flat
Holm Island. We have organised an event meet at The Ship Inn,
Harbour Road, Barry for when we return.
The pub is located at the mainland end of the causeway to Barry
Island and overlooks the old harbour.
There is ample free parking available and the pub is child
friendly.
All geocachers are very welcome, it doesn’t matter if you have
been to Flat Holm or not everyone can attend.
The meet will start at about 2.30 and we have reserved an
upstairs room with a separate bar for 3 hours. After this we can
move into the main bar area if we want to.
For those wanting to fit a few caches in before or after the
event there is an existing cache just 70 Metres away and 22 within
10 miles.
The meet is an ideal time for people to exchange coins and
travel bugs. If you want to bring any along then please log them
into the cache. It would be a big help if you exchange them
directly with someone on the day and make a note of who you have
given them to. Sadly coins and bugs can go AWOL at events and this
is an attempt to stop this happening.
The pub is part of The Hungry Horse chain so a large menu
selection is available at sensible prices if you want to eat. Food
can either be served in our room or you can eat in the main bar
area.
