Geocache Description:


Silver was discovered in this area in 1906 by two men while repairing the Bodie stage road. They occasionally worked the subsequent Lucky Boy mine for nearly two years before releasing their claims for a debt at the Adams & Miller store in Hawthorne. John Miller, the new owner leased the mine to the Chicago Exploration Co. who opened up new silver veins in 1908. The rush was on after that and a small community developed. This reservoir was part of the water system built and used for this purpose.
Be especially careful when approaching this site because there are no barricades.
Cache is a plastic coffee can containing the usual goodies and a Sacagawea dollar for the first to find.
