Micro Cache located near the Power House Bridge.
On March 8th 2001 the Power House Covered bridge in Johnson VT collapsed due to heavy snow fall. The town decided that this bridge is an Icon and that replacing it with a modern bridge would not do. So on June 29th 2002 they cut the ribbon on the new bridge. They constructed the new bridge to be an exact replacement, making the Power House Bridge one of the newest Covered Bridge in VT. There are currently 80 public owned bridges in the state; 73 town owned and 7 state owned. There are also approximatly 34 private covered bridges making a grand total of about 104. This is the most per land area of any state.
My wife, truvtter, actually went over this bridge less than an hour before the collaspe. At the time, she was completing her graduate program at Johnson State College. She went over the bridge on her way to school as she did twice every week. Then on her way home, the road was closed and the bridge gone, it had fallen into the river.
This incident sparked an interest in covered bridges that she has brought into many facets of her life. She is a quilter and crafter, together we began Covered Bridge Designs, a fabric art company (it is more of a hobby gone wild).
This is a micro cache, it is not on the bridge. And should not be too hard to find, except when the snow gets too high. Bring your own Pen.
