The Leprechaun's Pot of Gold Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

The VanDucks: We've moved the Leprechaun and his treasure to GC131ZR, "The Leprechaun's NEW Pot of Gold." - much less poison ivy in the new location, and the container has been thoroughly cleaned.

There were no TBs or geocoins in the original cache when we moved it.

Since it is a brand new cache, we invite those who logged the original "pot" to seek and log the new one!

"May the road rise up to meet you!" (Irish blessing)

Geocache Description:

Irish eyes are smiling as you seek the leprechaun's pot of gold! (Well, it's not really gold; our geocaching budget isn't that grand, but we do have some nice trade items for the "treasure"!) In the olden days, a rainbow might lead you here, but perhaps your GPS will work just as well - just remember to look for something green, the leprechaun's favorite color! Leprechauns are known to be tricky, so the pot is well concealed, but not very far from the path, because this leprechaun is also lazy! Be sure to re-hide it well; you don't want to annoy the leprechaun!

Parking at N 38 59.111, W 077 24.371 should lead you from the intersection of Old Ox Road (Rt. 606) and Oakgrove Road down Oakgrove Road "extended" (take a jog to the left) into an area of large new single family houses, and you will see an asphalt path, just before the first house on the right side in the new development, leading to the W&OD Trail, although there is no sign there for the trail. The new road extension is not yet on the Google maps. If you start from the parking coordinates given, it's about a quarter mile walk to the cache; the gravel path is your best bet. (We have added a second set of parking coordinates which may be easier to locate but will make it a 1.2 mile round trip.) Muggles will be likely to appear from all directions!

Congratulations to The First Noel for first to find!
