Geocache Description:

This is a short walk, less than 1/4 mile each way. Walking up the steps will be the hardest part of the cache and that shouldn’t be too hard.

I am surprised that there are no caches in this cemetery. Now there is. I live nearby and I happen to be a runner, I am always looking for new running routes. I found this cemetery one day when I wondered where those stairs went to.

The cemetery itself is not very well maintained, but to me that makes it more interesting. Like other foothill cemeteries you can find graves from the 1850’s up to the present.

The coordinates on this page will take you to a free public parking lot. Then, after you figure out the puzzle you will want to walk about 300 or 400 feet at an approximate heading of South by South East. Be careful crossing the road and if you find yourself on Hwy 50, you have gone too far.

To solve the puzzle you will need the street address of the posted coordinates. The street address of the posted coordinates is w x y z. And you need to solve for N 38° 43.ABC W 120° 47.DEF
A=x B=z C= x+z (2nd #)
D=(w+z)/2 E= x-y F=y

The cache is a small container, that is not disturbing any of the grave sites. Be sure to bring your own pen/pencil. Finding the cache will not force you to walk through the cemetery but I hope you take the time to enjoy it. Please leave the container in place and just remove the lid to access the log.
Alder Creek
This is/was my first cache placement and it was loosely based on Welcome to Placerville (GCTKD5) by the Travelin' Gnomes. Anyway I thought it was cool way to do it. In my naiveté I probably miss-labeled this as a multi-cache when in reality it should have been a mystery cache. Well... you cannot change the type of cache after it is published... Considering that the bus schedule gets changed semi-regularly at least twice a year, I figured it was time to change the puzzle. If that statement confuses you, sorry. This cache was based on the daily bus schedule, now it isn’t.
