Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Getting to the area is not an easy drive. You CAN make it with a
street
car BUT it's going to be teeth jarring and dusty.
Small cache with no room for swag unless it's REALLY small.
Bring a pen and please use your best stealth.
The Holy Jim Volunteer Fire Department is made up of more than 50
Trabuco
Canyon residents and people from surrounding areas.
•Besides fighting area fires, the department performs four to six
rescues each year, usually lost hikers
•It maintains its own firehouse and garage, two firetrucks, three
5,000-gallon water
tanks and a mile of water line in the canyon.
•Most of its funding comes from an annual auction.
This weekend we attended the annual auction at the firehouse.
After unloading the purchased items, WAIT, where's the fishing
poles we bought? Darn !
If we're going back up, I wonder if there's a cache at the
Firehouse? Nope.
Back up the trail to get the poles (but they weren't there) and
placed the cache.
We'll make sure we post an EVENT for the next auction.
