Moose Droppings Traditional Cache

A great cache with a spectacular view! This one can be a bit of a walk for the wee ones and involves the risk of rattlesnake and young-bull-moose encounters. Includes a steep hill and is hot in the summer and freezing in the winter. In fact, winter may be a fun but tough trip, there is a steep hill involved and the ground has a ton of rocks so don't bring your flip-flops!
This one is a good one with great views, especially now when the aspens are changing. This route is even funner if you walk a bit further to a clearing with a small pond. Head towards the cliff face after you find the cache and you will see what I mean.
Be careful in this area and be on the lookout for a young male moose. He is big and young - bad combo for a moose! I spot him more than half the time on this hike and he has been polite except for once (he apparently doesn't like being strobe-lighted with a camera-flash, hehe. If you go to the cache from "Mule Deer Mojo" you will have an excellent chance of spotting him. Out of my last ten visits he has been waiting at six, including today where he glared at me from the trees while I looked for a good spot for this cache. We are beginning to develop an understanding - I stay out of his way... and he does whatever he wants.
