Looking at the current work it is possible GZ may survive in the long term - but only time will tell.

Geocache Description:

Should be an easy find but watch for muggles at the skate board park and on the bridge.

Kedron Brook drains the coastal plain just north of Brisbane. The headwaters lie in the Brisbane Forest Park and drain the eastern slopes of the D’Aguilar Range. Kedron Brook flows through a mostly urbanised catchment to Moreton Bay, an ecologically significant area for waders and aquatic organisms.

Brisbane boomed in the 1880’s, but reticulated water supplies were limited at the time. With seasonal rainfall, it was important to have a reliable water source; Kedron Brook provided that. In addition small coal deposits supplied local needs from the Kalinga area.

Prior to settlement the relatively permanent flow in Kedron Brook would have been and important resource for aboriginal people as well as the native fauna. There are scant records of the native flora and fauna at the time of settlement. The variable landscape though which Kedron Brook flows would have provided habitat for a diversity of flora and fauna.
