The TRON Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Geeks who Reek: I was going to try to get a new container for this cache but just haven't gotten around to it. I'm going to archive it so that someone else can put a cache near this location if desired. Thanks for all the comments and I hope those who were able to find it in the past enjoyed the walk through the park.

Geocache Description:

A local park that reminds us of the disc contest in the movie Tron. Located near the start of the final leg in the course.

Interest in the "way geeky movie" Tron led us to this location, which is very vaguely reminiscent of the movie. We couldn't find a good hiding spot at the start or finish, but this is close. The location is accessible year-round but there is an 11 pm curfew on the park. There is often considerable activity in the park but the cache is fairly far from the playground and the pavillion where most of the activity takes place. The cache isn't hard to reach at night because of the lights from the parking lot although a flashlight would be a good idea for the last little bit.

During the summer public restrooms and drinking water are available.

We have replaced the original container with a small ammo can so that items can be traded. Hopefully the larger container will still be hidden well enough to avoid being muggled. There is a larger log book (the previous log was stapled in the front of that book) and a pencil. In addition, the original contents include:
3 mini frisbees
1 box of crayons
1 container of silly putty
a "self-returning" ball on an elastic
a Matchbox Porsche 911 Turbo
2 pens
3 wristbands
several mini carabiners
an olympic key ring
and the Worst Golf Ball Ever travel bug.

When you replace the cache please turn it so the handle isn't visible. It isn't as recognizably foreign to muggles if the handle isn't visible. Hopefully that will keep it a little more secure so we won't have to move it to prevent further muggling.
