Een makkelijke cache in Alphen aan den Rijn, op de grens
van polder en stad.
Parkeren kan bij: N 52°07.651'- E004°38.806', vandaar is het
ruim 600 meter te voet langs de Molenwetering. De cache is goed benaderbaar
per fiets, het laatste stuk dient gelopen te worden.
Molenwetering is de naam van een eeuwenoude
watergang die onder andere zorgde voor de afwatering van de
Zaansche Polder.In vroeger dagen was deze wetering
bekend als Molenvliet en waterde, tegenover de
monding van de Kromme Aar, uit in de Oude
Rijn. Tegenwoordig wordt de Molenwetering nog
slechts gebruikt als opvang bij overvloedige regenval. Daarnaast is
het een mooi stuk groen met typische
polderelementen en fungeert als buffer tussen het gelijknamige
industriegebied en de Alphense nieuwbouwwijk Kerk en
Zanen. Voorbij de N 11, in de gemeente Rijnwoude, veranderd
de naam in Rietveldse Wetering. Het pad dat de
watergang volgt loopt door tot in Hazerswoude.
De cache bevindt zich midden in dit groene "natuur" gebied. Het is
een kleine Tupperware ± 15 x 15 x 5 cm waar alleen coins, kleine
TB's en goodies in passen.

here it's a 600 m. walk, along the 'Molenwetering'. The
cache can be approached by bicycle, the final part can only be done
on foot.
Molenwetering is the name of a centuries old drain
which took care of the drainage of the Zaansche
Polder.In early days this drain was known as
Molenvliet and discharged in to the Oude
Rijn(Old Rhine) opposite the mouth of the Kromme
Aar. Nowadays the Molenwetering is only in
use as overflow in times of abundant rainfall. Besides that it's a
beautiful green part with characteristic polder elements which has
a function as a buffer between the industrial area of the same name
and the new housing development Kerk en Zanen. Past
the National Road N 11, in the municipality Rijnwoude, it's
name changes in to Rietveldse Wetering. Here you can
see the water in it's natural surrounding. The path that follows
the water leads you to Hazerswoude.
The cache is in the middle of this green scenery. It is a small
Tupperware box ±15x15x5 cm in which only fits coins, small TB's and
goodies.
