Park in the Botanical Garden Parking Lot off of Old Mason Farm Road, and begin walking toward the NorthEast. Take care crossing Mason Farm Road, walk along new Highland Woods Road, and take the first gravel path (at the gate) to the left.
The cache is neither in the Botanical Garden, nor on its Piedmont Nature trails (printable .pdf map), but a visit there is always worthwhile. There is a considerable amount of construction on the new visitor center, but parking and picnicking are available at BGPARK.
These trails are used by the UNC Cross Country Team (so beware of fast muggles.)

A sister cache, La Cabane aux Outils, unfortunately was archived 22Jun08 due to so-called trail improvements in the area. There are now several miles of trails in this area, great for walking, jogging and running.
Alternate Parking & Trailhead: Park at NC State Employees Credit Union on S. Hamilton St. Head South to enter trail system for a 0.4 mile walk to the cache.
