(DE) Vent - Der hohle Stein (2.050m)
An dieser Stelle lagerten steinzeitliche Jäger und Hirten in der Zeit zwischen dem 8. und 4. Jahrthausend vor Christus. Der große überhängende Felsblock bildet einen besonders geschützten Platz, den die vorgeschichtlichen Menschen im Sommer immer wieder aufsuchten.
Sie errichteten Feuerstellen, verwerteten die Jagdbeute und stellten Werkzeuge aus Holz, Knochen und Geweih her. In erster Linie jedoch arbeiten sie an der Herstellung von Klingen, Pfeilspitzen, Kratzern und Bohrern aus qualitätsvollem Feuerstein der aus der nördlichen Gardaseeregion stammt und als wertvolles Tauschgut den weiten Weg in die Ötztaler Alpen fand.
Die Funstelle des Mannes im Eis ist von hier ca. 12km entfernt und es ist nicht auszuschließen, dass ihn sein Weg an diesem Felsen vorbeiführte. Der urzeitliche Lagerplatz wurde gemäß Ausgrabungsbefund partiell rekonstruiert.

At this site hunters and herdsmen of the stone age ettled during the period between the 8th and 4th millennium B.C.
The big overhanging boulder forms a remarkable well protected place regularly visited by prehistoric man in the summer season.
They established fireplace, made use of the bag and produced tools made of wood, bone and horn. Primarily however they were busy working knifes, arrowheads, scrapers and drills out of high-quality flint coming from the northern region of Lake Garda which found its way to the Ötztal Alps as an object of value in exchange.
The place where the man in the ice was discovered is about 12km from here and it is not impossible that his path led him past this rock. The prehistoric camp site was partially reconstructed according to the results of the excavation.
