Best parking I found to be at Lamorna Cove The area also has facilities. and a swift half at the Lamorna Wink will not go amiss after (not before) finding the cache!
The part co-ord for this cache is (W) Believe the cache to have been muggled.
Part of the Cornish Lighthouse series. Each cache has a part co ordinate for the final lighthouse. You may claim each of these caches as you go.
Tater Du is the most recent of the Cornish lighthouses to be built, it opened in 1965 It was fully automated and unmanned from the start.
The wreck of a Spanish coaster the Juan Ferrer on October 23rd 1963 proved to be the early catalyst. The vessel ran aground on Boscawen point, capsizing with the loss of 11 lives.
The light is operated by batteries which are charged continually from the mains and will run for 5 days in the event of a mains failure
NOTE The path towards the lighthouse is not easy and great care should be taken with children and dogs.
