Geocache Description:

SVE:
Rutger Macklean införde storskiftet i Sverige.

ENG:
From Rökhuset you have a fantastic view towards Svaneholms slott. The Castle were built 1530 out on a islet. The castle only had one row at the beginning and because there was new landowners the castel changed to have four rows, today it is a sealed square. At the beginning of the 1800 century the castle were owned by Rutger Macklean who had the moat filled so the castle were not on a islet anymore, further he had builed a park in English style. Rutger Macklean introduced storskiftet in Sweden. I realy dont know what Röhuset has been used as, but now you can hire the cottage for a small amount of money. After you have logged the cache, you can always take a look on the castle and the fantastic park, in the park there are a statue of Rutger Macklean and his dog. Today the castle is used as a museum, you can read more here (visit link)
