An sort and easy waymarked walk along the first few miles of the Cumbria Way, which starts from the Gill in Ulverston
The Cumbrian Way is about 70 miles / 113 km long and typically it takes 5 or 6 days to complete.
The route starts at Ulverston and passes through rolling farmland north of Ulverston before reaching open bracken covered moorland and foothills around Blawith. It then descends to the lakeshore of Coniston Water, which it follows to the village of Coniston.
This cache is located fairly close to Ulverston and can be found in about half an hour !
Stage 1 - The location given at the top of the page is the starting point for the Cumbrian Way and a good parking spot. Here you will find a sculpture which represents a compass with a cairn in the centre. It was insatlled in February abcd

Once you have found the cache backtrack or follow the path for a further one hundred yards to a road. Proceed down the hill to the next junction and follow the road back into Ulverston, another footpath bears off the road along Gill Banks back to the Gill. Alternatively stick to the road.
