Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IMPERIAL

The Co-ordinates given are not for the cache, but for a parking spot on the grass verge close to the footpath from where the cache can most easily be accessed. The parking space is limited and the road can be quite busy at peak times so be very careful when leaving your car. You will find yourself quite close to Gate Farm so please park sensibly and do not block the gate to avoid upsetting the farmer. There are alternative and better parking areas close to other footpaths that will also lead you to the cache. These longer routes offer good walks in beautiful countryside. The choice is, as always, yours.
If you do decide to park on the grass verge at the co ordinates given you will then need to walk a short distance past the entrance to Gate Farm until you see a sign post indicating the public footpath. This footpath initially will take you through a wooded area and even in daylight this will be a dark area. Take care as there is a quite steep bank on one side of the path.

Before you set out you will need to answer the questions below on imperial measurement. The answers will give you the co ordinates to the cache which is a large green box with clips to hold the hinged lid in place. You will know that you are in the right place if you take a look at the next tree along. It looks as if it could be home to Bilbo Baggins !

Here are the questions: -

How many yards in a chain? = A
Take a tanner from a bob and add 12 farthings. How many pence have you got? = B
The second digit of the number of yards in one mile? = C
The last digit of the number of yards in a mile? = D
The number of fluid ounces in a quart? = E
How many miles were there in 3 leagues? = F
If you gave me two half crowns how many shillings would I have? =G
Double the number of pecks in a bushel? = H

Now use your answers to complete the co ordinates below for the imperial cache. It is a large box and will therefore be suitable for the bigger travel bugs. Initially it has been filled with plenty of goodies including a souvenir geo coin that the first to find might like to keep and 2 travel bugs. Please take care to hide from view when replacing the cache.

Good Luck!
