Geocache Description:

The cache is to the east of kirkby Stephen, where there are many footpaths leading to the area from Natby, Stenkrith, Kirkby Stephen and Hartley.

Things to see while your there . Devil's Grinding Mill ( N54 27.743 W002 21.102 ) is part of The Angel's Drainpipe, a partially collapsed cave system on the River Eden which forms dramatic gorges and natural arches. It is located within Stenkrith park. The water moving with the caves and gorges produces an incessant roar. Geologically it is unusual as it has formed not in true limestone, but in brockram, a breccia of limestone fragments within sandstone. Podgill viaduct ( N54 27.995 W002 20.270 ) was designed by the engineer Sir Thomas Bouch, and was constructed by Chambers 8 Hilton for a single line of railway, but, was doubled in width in 1889; the two stages of construction are identified by differences in the masonry. It is listed Grade II, With a maximum height of 25.6m, the eleven arches of Podgill Viaduct stand virtually invisible in a wooded valley close to the hamlet of Hartley. The Cache is a small plastic container containing log book and small swaps.
