Geocache Description:

Trudge
Function: verb Inflected
Form(s): trudged; trudg·ing

intransitive verb : to walk or march steadily and usually laboriously
transitive verb : to trudge along or over
trudg·er noun

This is a Trudge to say the least. Please park in the area suggested and walk a little over a 1/4 mile to the cache. The area is posted no Off Road Vehicle use. No quad cheating here. It suggested that you use a high clearance vehicle as the cinders get deep in places.

You will have views of Darton Dome, O'Leary Peak, Sunset Crater, Painted Desert, Strawberry Crater, Black Mountain, and of course the San Francisco Peaks.

This is some of the best views in Northern Arizona. There are many ways to access the area. But please just pull off where I suggest and then make the journey. It is well worth the walk.

Leave No Trace Techniques for Geocaching

The essentials of responsible geocaching:

  • Never bury caches.

  • Never leave food items in a cache.

  • Replace rocks & other natural objects lifted during a search.

  • Find routes that minimize impact.

  • Leave places looking as if the seekers had never been there.

Enjoy the cache and have fun. Please replace it exactly as you found it so that others following you can find it exactly as intended.
