I felt that there should be more caches in the area. We found this cookey place while participating in a GPS Car Rally. Do not know why Bill has a wall way out here but it seemed fitting that others should know about it.

Thanks to Sonorazark that found the story about Bill.

Here is a brief history of Bill's Wall:
This was the home of Bill and Ellen Burke for 55 years. Bill did all of the rock work himself. You had to climb 22 steps to get into the main living area of the house. Ellen says there is only one step at her home now, and she likes that much better at her age.

The property was purchased by Cal Trans as part of the right-of-way for the new Hwy 108 bypass. When the appraiser came to visit he said, "This is a one-of-a-kind home."

Ellen says Bill died three years ago this month at the age of 86 (that would not jive with the date on the plaque but maybe that is the date it was placed). They had been married 63 years.

They have twin daughters. One lives in Murphys and the other lives across the street. Both of the twins run businesses out of their homes. One of them runs a business called "Mags Bags" that sells motorcycle accesories. Their son, Pat, placed the plaque.

Cache is a rubbermaid container camo colored about 5 X 7. Contents when placed included:
