Cache #3 along Spruce Hill Lake Pipeline to Chain Lake in Long Lake Provincial Park
This is the third cache along the water pipeline built in 1868 from Spruce Hill Lake to the Chain Lakes. For further background information check Spruce Hill Lake pipeline #'s 1&2, GCY2GN & GCY2GR. This cache is located at a bridge where the water pipeline crosses under the 'Old St. Margaret's Bay Coach Road' beside the Beaverdam Stream.
'A Bridge Too Far' may be accessed from the East ,South, & west with various degrees of difficulty??
1] From the east The Old St.Margaret's Bay Road can be accessed from the Old Sambro Road AKA as "The 306". Using this access, to the road, will allow you to visit GCT6PE ,GCT6E8 . both brought to you by Fergus Pals ,along with GC9E09 ,Les 4 Frogs.The road has a few water hole to go around.
2]From the south, parking co-ordinates N 44'35.092 W 063'38.532. On route take in Fox in Rocks,GCWYJE & Pipeline #'s 1&2,GCY2GN & GCY2GR. From 'Hoist Me Up' Pipeline #2, follow the 'BLUE' flagging tape around the swamp.
3] From the west, start from the 'Split Trailhead'ES-17, GCVMAD. This will take you by **100** illegally dumped tires in the trees.This approach can be very challenging after rain with 3 major water holes to go around.
