Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the Hornchurch Country Park which was once an RAF airfield. The Cache is a mystery cache and you'll have to walk along some of the tracks to gather clues for the Cache location. Inside the cache is some more information about the base and Lt Leefe Robinson.

The Coords given are for the car park (Entrance from Squadrons Approach Road).
N51 32.554
E0 12.865

The Final Coordinates are
N51 32.0BC
E000 12.BDD

From the car park walk along the path towards the tree where there is an odd concrete circle in the ground (N51 32.506 E0 12.889). This circle was for setting the compass of air craft before takeoff.

Walk along the main away from the carpark for a little while. It might be time for a little rest! Many people have enjoyed this park so much that their families have erected park seats to remember them. You should happen along a seat that remembers “Arthur”. (N51 32.325 E0 12.843) The year that he was born is 19C3.

Continue along the path for a while. In your clue hunting don't forget to look around and enjoy the scenery. In a little while you will see a Pillbox left over from the Air Field. This formed part of the outer defence of the base. There are a total of 3 of these in the park that can easily be seen by walking along the path. How many sides do the pill boxes have? Answer = B.

Continuing to follow the path. After a couple of sharp bends and to your right you will find a lake with 2 islands in it. You will now leave the path to look around the lake. There are a number of seats around the park and one of them is engraved with with the organisation that donated the seat. Count all the letters engraved on the seat (ignore the graffiti and the symbol '&'). You may know that the Red Cross was active during WWII in providing humanitarian work, a work that continues today. Look at the last 3 letters. The Office of the Strategic Services, or also known as the (OSS) provided intelligence (including code breaking) for the Americans during WWII (when they decided to enter the war). As this organisation carried out much of its work in secret to find the final clue we will subtract these final 3 letters from the count. Answer divided by 11 = D.

You should now have all you need to find the cache!
