Chaffee Falls Cache Traditional Cache
GeoHobos: Local kids found this cache and pretty much wiped out the contents. (And according to a neighbor, check it frequently for goodies.) Nothing but some trashy piece of old toys left of the inventory. Am moving it to another spot, likely along the same trail system. Thanks for playing, folks!

Pittsford Trail System, Pittsford, Vermont
This cache will introduce you to a wonderful little set of trails called the Pittsford Trails. The parking coords [N 43°43.819 W 072° 59.768] will place you at the trailhead. There is more than one way to get to the cache as the trails form a loop (more or less). PLEASE NOTE: the cache itself is not placed on the Pittsford Trails, but on adjoining land belonging to my father-in-law. However, you won’t have to bushwhack to reach the cache as the trails continue onto his land (they just aren’t nicely marked and laid out.) Before you leave the trail system—or on your way back—be sure to check out nearby Chaffee Falls, a beautiful spot.
From the parking you can follow one of two possible trails. Either will lead you eventually to the cache. You are looking for N 43° 44.130 W 072° 59.294 where you will leave the trail system and enter my father-in-law’s land. At the junction you will see a red ribbon tied on a nearby tree and the back of a hunting posted sign. The trail continues on in a faint fashion to the cache located at N 43° 44.220 W 072°59.203. We went up twice to double check the coords because the GPS was jumpy and I used an average of the readings we got. If you get better ones, please feel free to note them.
This cache is the final destination for the Listen Magazine Travel Bug. The FTF is a homemade bird whimsy. I’ve made a flock of these recently and am releasing one in this cache. Enjoy!
I don’t have much experience rating caches, but I’m saying this one is a 3 for terrain because there are some slippery spots where you have to be a little careful of your footing. Some bridges have been placed at trickier spots but these can be slippery too so watch your step. I’m saying 2 for difficulty because my kids do it without complaining so it can’t be that hard. It’ll take you maybe an hour altogether.
