Geocache Description:

‘Oxford Canal’ caches are part of a series set along the banks of the Oxford Canal.

The Oxford canal runs for 77 miles from Coventry to Oxford joining the Coventry canal and the Thames. It was designed by the famous James Brindley who sadly died in 1772, long before it was finally finish. Construction took nearly 20 years, the total length finally being open on January 1st 1790. It was originally intended to carry trade from the Midland to London, today the canal is popular for walking and pleasure cruises.

The towpath to this point is muddy and overgrown in places so boots are advisable. The cache is a 250ml tub.
