Geocache Description:

There are two cemeteries here, on one side is St. James cemetery and the other side is Oak Hill cemetery.
As always please be respectful of the area.
The cache is a log to sign, so please bring your own pencil to write with.

Cameron County has some of the richest history around and this series of "Peaceful Resting" is going to point out the service men of the Civil War period. This was a period of not just north against south, put of brother against brother and father against son.

Although I can not list everyone on this web page, here is just a sampling of some who served. Please take the time and look around at all the other service men and women.

John P. Harmon is the only Confederate Solider that I have seen in all the cemeteries that we have visited so far. Although his grave is not well marked, you will see a marker there.
