Geocache Description:

The coords will take you to a open area with a swing gate. Park off the road, but do not block the entrance. A good flashlight w/extra batteries, paper, pencil and a GPS are needed.

When entering this area you might want to log a find for Osage Cache #1.
OSAGE AFTER DARK is a mystrey & puzzle cache, to be done only after the sun has gone down. From the coords you should be able to pick up your first reflector and be on your way, going from one to another. Don't put your GPS away, you may want to record your track for your return trip, and you never know just what's in store for you on this trip.
Most all of the trails are quite open, pretty much flat and not near water. There is no underbrush or berry bushes to contend with.
The reflecrors are placed close enough together, that when standing close to one, (THREE FEET) you will be able to spot the next one. Do not jump ahead; because some trees that hold a trail reflector will also hold a clue reflector. These letter-number clue combination will be needed to complete the cache. The clue reflectors will be placed in plain sight (not hidden) on the SAME tree, but could be on the back side of the tree. The clue reflectors will be marked in number sequence from 1-0(10). If you find yourself out of sequence, you should go back to get the clue that you missed. None of the clue reflectors are placed in any thick pine trees, and the first one will not be found untill you leave the mowed trail and enter the woods.
If you find a tree marked with two reflectors, placed SIDE BY SIDE, you have come to a DEAD END trail, and you must back track (not more than three markers) to find the right trail again. Any tree that is marked with two reflectors, ONE ABOVE THE OTHER, are only there to guide you in your return trip, and have nothig to do with the cache.
NOTE! When approaching #6-9 markers, you will be near (not close to) a rim of a ravine. Please have kids or pets close and in control at this location. Other than that, this is a very kid-pet friendly hike.
When reaching the 1st leg, you will find that it will include the coords in letter & number form. This is when you will transform the letters to numbers from the ten mumber-letter combinations you have collected along the way. Only six of these will be required to start the 2nd leg. Please sign the log book and make any comments at this stop, good or bad.
From here you will need to retrace your route back to #7, and beyond, for a clear shot at the heavens above and good GPS readings.
At the coord location, you will again start to search for reflectors that will lead you just a short distance away to the final cache. There is no need to look for further clues at these reflector trees. You have what you need to complete the cache. Remember it is a mystery & puzzle cache, and you may have to unscramble what you have in the notes that you have collected along the way. Well, this is the puzzle part, but a pretty easy one. Credit for this part goes to Mrs. Yurtle of the Yurtles team.
Follow the dbl. markers to the return trail to the parking area.
I would consider and appreciate any suggestions for changes to this cache that would be beneficial in making it more enjoyable or more of a challenge.
