Geocache Description:

Camouflage-painted ammo can stocked with bits from a youth gloriously misspent around the world in the service of America

Items in this cache are mementos of my life before medicine, when I really was among the elite, the 3/75 Rangers and 1st Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Germany)..."The Quiet Professionals".

Logbook, pen, pencils
Blood chits from the first Gulf War (numbers are bogus)
ARMS/H&K patches: two companies that made vital gear
3/75 patch set: includes Ranger tabs (I was class 9-86)
Dog Tag Chains, in original wrapper
Compass, wristwatch band
10th Special Forces Group patch: colorful, a great trade
Herbstfest coin: the parachuting competition held in Bad Toelz, Germany, where I was stationed 1988-1991
Spanish paratroops patch: from a JCET my team went on
Expert Infantry Badge: originally I earned this in Korea, 1984
E-5 (sergeant) Dress Green Chevrons
Multiple "Provide Comfort" patches: Kurdish refugee op, when as an SF E-6 in Iraq I decided to become an MD
H&K 3-point carrying sling: used it on my shotgun/MP5
Sealed metal can, survival rations: like eating cardboard but better than starving during winter operations
Tetra-Lube lubricant, double baggied: never had a weapon fail to fire when using this special lube
1/10th SFGA coin: "Coin Check!" if you didn't have your coin on you, you bought the round
One Deutcschemark coin: spent a lot of these!
Earplugs: for weapons training, air ops or snoring A-team mates, still work, I think!
2d Infantry Division: my first line unit, 1984-86, where I made buck sergeant (E-5)

Please avoid seeking this cache on Fridays, since there may be a traditional healing ceremony ("sweat") taking place just down the gravel road. Please be respectful and come back another time if you see a fire at the end of the gravel road.

Turn in near the Haskell BIA cemetary, dating back to 1884 when the school was the Haskell Industrial Training School, then proceed along the gravel road through the treeline. I recommend approach from the west.
