Back for the third year by popular demand, this
Christmas Event
has been put together for cachers in the area (and perhaps
even further afield) to meet up, discuss the caches of 2006
and plan those for 2007, and indulge in some festive cheer.

Winkwell, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 2RZ
This year, the event includes a sit down meal. I have posted up the
details of the menu below in a cache log. The meal will commence at
7.30pm. Non-diners are also welcome to attend.
The pub is open all afternoon, from 12.00am. Cachers may like to
meet up at lunchtime to join up into cache hunting groups, but
people will start to gather at the venue itself from about
17:00pm.
The co-ordinates above will take you to the car
park of the pub along the lane. I am sorry the co-ords are a
bit rubbish but I am confident you will find the pub! There is
a huge overflow carpark a bit further up the lane, so we will
all fit in.

I have now received menu choices and
most of the deposit money from 29 people who are confirmed
as coming along and eating : Me

Drsolly, OldNickCov, Andybug and ladybird, Pengy and Tigger,
Bongtwashes (watch Bob arrive first for FTF!!), DTJM, Wizard1974uk,
GForce, Badger, DRC and Herts_Skip. Everybody who is not
dining is also welcome, they have set aside the Lounge Bar
and restaraunt for our sole use. If you want to join us for
the meal, the landlord has said they will try to accommodate
you, but can you ring the pub directly on 01442 862585 and tell them you are
part of Alison's group for saturday evening.
And now, to prove that
ringing the landlord does work, just in under the wire we now
have The Great Redmundo and SamsonUK79 joining us!
This year, due to the frequency of TBs going missing from event
cachers, I am going to have a logging in and out system for bugs
and coins to attempt to prevent this. I will be running a
bug box and little black book system to keep tabs on the bugs and
coins passing through the event. This will not be compulsary,
but any bugs that go through the system will hopefully be able to
be accounted for.
There are plenty of caches nearby, and there will be some new
ones to be released to co-incide with the event
