Hidra #13 Landskapsvernområde Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

cervisvenator: Hi

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

Geocaches which have not been maintained or the owner has not responded will not be taken out of the archive

(This reviewer note is in English so non-Norwegian cache owners, geocachers and cache reviewers can understand what it says.)

Thanks for your understanding,

Flekkefjord landskapsvernområde. Regjeringen vedtok i Statsråd 11.03.2005 å opprette Flekkefjord landskapsvernområde i Flekkefjord kommune i Vest-Agder fylke.
Her finnes spor etter 10 000 års kystkultur.

Flekkefjord Protective landscape area. The Goverment passed a bill on 11th March 2005 to establish Flekkefjord Protective landscape area in the municipality of Flekkefjord in the county of Vest-Agder. The area covers 54 km2, divided between approx. 38.5 km2 land area including lakes and rivers, and approx. 15,5 km2 sea area.
The maritime cultural landscape in the protected area is of great value in a national context. There are traces of a 10 000 year old coastal settlement and the remains of continuous settlement from the iron age to recent times. The southwestern archipelago between Rasvåg and Stø stands out as a continuous unspoiled landscape with attractive bays, well-maintained coastal pastures and rich forests with lots of linden, ash, alden and old lush coastal pine forests. The Protective landscape area represents the most western part of the county of Vest-Agder's coastal area and the oak forest region of Sørlandet. Smooth, ice-scraped granite rocks and intimate narrow bays make a stark contrast to the 200 - 300 meters high coastal uplands on Hidra and Hidreheia. The area is very attractive for boat trips, and recreational fishing can be done all year round. The old roads, paths and marked trails offer good opportunities for hiking.
