Just a short walk along a seldom used footpath brings you to this hidden little gorge in the trees.
Shipley Park offers some good walking, but if you are heading there from West Hallam, try walking down through the fields between West Hallam and Mapperley. They are criss-crossed by some seldom used footpaths through lovely peaceful meadows, awash with fauna and flora.
