This is meant to be quick and easy without disturbing the garden. Best to park on the street. Just have a seat and retrieve the magnetic without drawing attention.
Jackie was a friend of mine. She really was a friend of all.
I first met her in the 1960's when I was at Oregon State studying forestry. Jackie was a secretary in the forestry school office. Our paths crossed again in Olympia where she was a Senior Planner for the City of Olympia. Among other things, she loved to ride motorcycle, play in Hawaii and enjoy life.
She battled cancer and won -- for a while. As requested, at her memorial service, most everyone wore Hawaiian shirts and had a good time.
As testament to her work, the tall office building to the south of, and across from the Farmer's Market is dedicated to Jackie Boettcher. Go read the plaque on the wall next to Dancing Goats coffee shop.
The garden was designed and built by friends and the city at the building where she worked.....Enjoy.
