MacGyver is called in when an explosion in an underground lab threatens to leak acid into a major New Mexico water supply. MacGyver successfully enters the underground facility and frees a numbers of survivors including Barbara Spencer. She teams up with MacGyver. Using a chocolate bar, they stop the acid leak. Afterwards, however, Spencer is shot by Dr.Carl Stephens, who had caused the explosion in order to set back a project to create the ultimate weapon: the destruction of the ozone layer. MacGyver stops Steubens and they quickly sends a Morse code message that the leak has been stopped.
Colson: "You know, it's gonna take alot more than you can carry in that knapsack to get you through all this."
MacGyver: "Well, the bag's not for what I take Colson, it's for what I find along the way."
