Should be a fairly easy grab. Parking is available.
This cache is located in a Civil War site where Confederate General Johnston surrended to Union General Sherman on April 26, 1865. A local farm was the site of this largest troop surrender of the Civil War. Reconstructed farm buildings and a very nice visitor center are all worth a visit. The park is open Tues.-Sat. 10am-4pm.
The cache is hidden in a standard location a short distance off the trail in a clear rubbermaid container full of very nice goodies. Some stealth may be required. The original contents include: Civil War era rifle musket and bullet replica, Confederate bills (take only one, please, so some will be left for subsequent visitors), Bennett Place patch, 2 bouncy balls, 2 race car pencils, small kaleidoscope, pencil holder magnet, Incredibles magic towel and sticker roll, skateboard figurine, and of course a log book with pencil and pen. I have also placed Scooter Boy, a new travel bug, in it.
NOTE: THIS SITE IS OFFICIALLY OPEN TUES.-SAT. 10AM-4PM.
