Strawberry Fields Traditional Cache

Strawberries were cultivated by the Romans as early as 200BC and in mediaeval times strawberries were regarded as an aphrodisiac and a soup made of strawberries, borage and soured cream was traditionally served to newly-weds at their wedding breakfast.
Native American Indians were already eating strawberries when the Colonists arrived and it is believed that in 1780, the first strawberry hybrid wa developed in the USA.
There are many fruit farms in and around the Perthshire area and many eastern europeans work on the farms during the summer months.
Parking for one or two cars can be found near the gate at N56.26.157 W003.24.775
Please be careful when retrieving the cache as it is close to a path used by dog walkers and is within visibility of the fruit farm. Please cover it well when replacing it.
