Geocache Description:

This cache is located approximately 6 kilometres west from the town of Hope. The cache can be found near the base of a natural waterfall, a 15 minute walk from the access road on the south side of the Trans Canada freeway.

If you’re heading east on Highway 1 exit 165 or coming into Fraser valley from the west, exit 168, you won’t want to miss spending some time in this majestic place. Just to the west of the small hamlet of Hope lies a truly rare treat. Nestled at the base of the Coast mountain range is an accessible 380m high natural waterfall. Given its dramatic rise in elevation from the rocky stream bed, you're bound to see many cascades of water tumbling down its steep rocky face as the snow and ice melt especially in the early spring. Note that the volume of water does taper off in the later summer months and some times will dry up . Park at the waypoint N49 21.739 W121 31.164’ This will postion you at the new "Flood Falls Trail" sign. Follow a rough trail through the forest. Throughout the area, overflowing creeks have literally carved out channels in the ground. Keep to the left of the channels, following them upwards for few hundred meters. The trail emerges from the forest at the base of Flood Falls. The trail will rise approximately 110 metres in altitude from the parking area to the falls. Although not particularly steep, the area close to the cache has loose rocks and unstable debris, that’s the reason we gave the terrain rating a 3.0. Caution, be aware of muggles in the area; especially during the busy summer months. The goodies are in a medium sized Lock'n Lock. The original contents various dollar store items.
