DEAR 1 is the First of a series of micros placed along "Dead End Access Roads". All the DEAR series are placed very near the "end" of the dead end roads, on the road allowances.
The Baseline Road runs along just north of Highway 401 between Courtice and Bowmanville, and many of the roads heading south from it dead end at the major highway. These roads would be maintained in winter only as far as the last residence, and there are few of them, so don't try these caches after a snow or ice storm. The roads offer these residents access to Baseline Rd. There is also a DEAR 2, DEAR 3, and DEAR 4.
All the DEAR series are micros, containing a tiny log but no writing implement. Bring your own. NO trading here. Just fun hunting.
