Parking is at N 52° 34.100 W° 0 20.624 This is reached by
driving down Splash Lane in Castor. Keep on driving straight on
down the bumpy lane until you see the green car park sign. Please
be aware that this is a very quiet car park and so you should not
leave any valuables in your vehicle.
(Added 10/11/06) N.B. Another cacher recently had their car
broken into here, so you may wish to park in the village and walk
to this point. :-(
IMPORTANT BIT: After parking, ignore the path in the far corner
of the car park, and carefully walk back out of the entrance you
drove in through. Now, carry on up the track in the direction you
drove (away from the village). At the bridge, you have a choice of
3 paths: left, right, straight on. YOU MUST GO STRAIGHT ON, towards
the railway line, or you'll end up with wet feet ! Follow the path
along the edge of the field and follow your GPSr from here to the
cache !
Please note:
1. As you are going very near water, please keep young children
under close control. (Pushchair owners: there are also 2 small
styles to climb / lift over on the way.)
2. The cows are very friendly and at the end of the day, when I was
first visiting this site, they came over for a drink from the
river, and to have a good sniff of me and my (foodless) bag.
