Geocache Description:

Just off main roadway, Parking is just south on east side

It's not every day you can find a:

Totem Pole Cache

in Southern California!

Not quite in the city limits of Corona (yet), but this structure has been here as long as I can remember. Taking a closer look, it has the been identified with a placard at the top as "History of Corona" by "Kimbell High". The totem has graphic panels on the north face. It has what appears to be 50 caliber and 20mm armor piercing bullets projecting outward below the panels all the way around. Quite an interesting Totem. I couldn't find any history online, so I am wondering if anyone has something to contribute to the history of this monument.

Cache is hidden at the base of the totem on the back side in a 2" dia x 2" tall camo container under a stack of rocks that were just added around the base. Since the container is very small, bring your pencil or pen. Contains only log booklet and has very limited space.

Be aware that this is a very busy intersection, as it is the entry road to Dawson Canyon and the County Dump.

Parking can be found on the east side of the street just south of the Totem where the phone company has a small access turn-out to equipment by the road sign. Alternate parking is across the street, south of the signal. Be careful crossing the street. Please replace the cache container as found.
