cache coordinates will be provided at the event.
The City of Omaha Parks & Recreation Department is hosting an
Introduction to Geocaching event at the Florence Community Center
on Saturday November 11th, from 10:00 to 1:00 p.m. This event is
designed to attract citizens who want to learn about one of the
newest and most popular sports around the world. Several
experienced Geocachers have volunteered to share their GPSr and
lead teams on a multiple Geocaching hunt around the building. Even
though this event is taylored for the inexperienced, veteran
Geocacher are welcomed to attend and participate in the event. You
may log (one) find for credit. We are also interested to see if
there is enough interest to establish monthly Geocaching meetings
at the Florence Community Center to discuss, finds, equipment, or
other favorite topics. Coffee, juice and donuts will be provided.
There will be a short presentation explaining the sport, followed
by some practical Geocaching hunts.
