Geocache Description:

The Worst Cache Scenario is a regular cache hidden in a National Park in the Redland Shire. The cache is not at the given co-ordinates but that is a good place to park! Please note that the gates to the National Park are closed to car access at 5 p.m. AlC??

"The Worst Cache Scenario" is a themed puzzle cache. Most of us probably have a fear of something.

Many fears are quite common and therefore well known; such as claustrophobia (fear of confined spaces) and glossophobia (fear of public speaking). There are however many little known phobias that are suffered by fewer people in the world. These phobias may seem ridiculous and even very funny to the majority of us, but for the unfortunate sufferers they can deeply impact on their lives.

As geocachers we need to be immune to basiphobia (fear of walking) and amaxophobia (fear of riding in a car). We wouldn't get too far in a bush cache hunt if we suffered from arachnophobia (fear of spiders), acarophobia (fear of insects causing itching), cnidophobia (fear of stings) or snakephobia (no prizes for guessing that one!)
When approaching G.Z. we need to ignore the nigglings of scoptophobia (fear of being seen), kakorrhaphiophobia (fear of failure or defeat) and graphophobia (fear of writing). There is always a chance of experiencing a touch of automysophobia (fear of getting dirty), cremnophobia (fear of precipices), eleutherophobia (fear of freedom), geliophobia (fear of laughing) or even katagelophobia (fear of ridicule).
Depending on when you choose to cache, you may need to wrestle the demons of nyctohylophobia (fear of treed areas at night), lygophobia (fear of darkness), anemophobia (fear of wind), eosophobia (fear of dawn/daylight) or ombrophobia (fear of rain).

Your first step is to match the listed phobias with the given meanings. You will notice that all of the phobias have a corresponding latitude reading and all of the definitions have a corresponding longitude reading. Once you have done all of the matching you will see that one phobia and one definition do not match.
Use the latitude and longitude numbers from these "left overs" to create the coordinates of the cache.

After that the rest should be easy! Go out and find the cache, make some swaps if you wish, write your name in the log book and ........, well there is a little bit more! Inside the cache is a laminated sheet with numerous phobias listed. We ask that you choose one of these phobias, write it down for your records, cross it off the sheet with the oil pen and then write it with its meaning in your on-line log. So, that means a little more research.

As part of your on-line log, you may also like to include a brief anecdote about something you're scared of. In team “THENANKS”, Mr NANKS is frightened of snakes, Mrs. NANKS freaks out about big, hairy spiders, Isaac is scared of having our car locked in a car park and Tom gets the shivers just thinking about hospitals!

Our intention is that this is taken as a bit of fun and we hope you see it in a lighthearted way. We realize that all of the phobias listed on this page and in the cache are very real for the individuals that suffer from them. Some of the fear-causing objects may appear a little bizarre or even amusing but we do not intend this to be offensive in any way. So with the formalities out of the way GO AND LEARN AND ENJOY!
