Geocache Description:

This series is on a bicycle path so is designed to be done by bicycle. By car and or by walking will prove a little difficult.

Pedal the pooh path from beginning to end
The path down which our ancestors, letter’s did send
The way now is closed but long past you can tell
There was no way to keep in that really bad smell
So follow the path and fear not about yuck
There is no reason now to be down on your luck
We’ll leave all the ---- for the Werribee duck.

There is now a new bicycle path in the west linking Werribee to Brooklyn, built along the reservation of the historic Main Outfall Sewer.

This trail is extremely useful to me because it runs almost directly from my home to my current work so as soon as I can raise the enthusiasm I’ll be biking to work. Sometimes at least, as enthusiasm can be a tad hard to find past fifty.

The trail is called the Federation Trail, a high falutin’ name no doubt designed to disguise the somewhat unsavoury former use of the construction along the way. For the purpose of the exercise I have a new name. “Pedalling The Pooh Path”. Lets see if that sticks.

Actually its worth noting the detail and craftsmanship in some of the brickwork, both in the drain itself and more particularly in the three viaducts you will pass by. As the saying goes, “they don’t build em like they used to”.

Enjoy Pedalling the Pooh Path and tracing the remains of your ancestors along the way.

Please feel free to use words such as, flush, effluent, sewer, steaming, smell, in your logs (there’s another one), simply for the purpose of amusement.
