Geocache Description:

Information Note: The cache box disappeared some time in 2021. I do intend to replace it at some point. I have left the listing active because some may find the walk and the view inspirational.

Not too far from the A59 but some of the steeper slopes can become slippery when wet.

Crow Hill is one of several Waulsortian Reef-knolls in the Ribble Valley. These are Lower Carboniferous Limestones which contain many, mainly crinoid, fossils. These knolls are highly prized for cement manufacture so don't expect them to last forever. This one is crossed by a footpath that runs between the A59 and Worston Village.
If you really must take a vehicle you can probably park it at N53°53.064 W002°21.292 which is only 150 metres (as THE crow flies) from the cache location.
The view from the summit of the knoll, despite it's low altitude of 140 metres, is panoramic. You may find Castle Cement's Lunar Project (launch site and proving grounds) to be of interest, or you may find it an eyesore, but, whatever, it cannot detract from the grandeur which surrounds it.
Limestone is great for Geocaching because it has many cracks and crevices which are ideal for hiding the cache. The coordinates given were accurate to 3 metres on the day I waypointed it. Use your GPSr to find it.
Please Note: You don't need to tackle any obstacle courses to access this cache. If you find yourself confronted by walls, fences, woods or cliffs then you have gone the wrong way! Please do not emulate the epic adventures of The Magna Defender and The Phantom Camel Train. Make sure you always use the proper public access footpaths!
At the time of release contained: An eponymous badge, a coin, a motorcycle, a strongman 5 tumbled stones and 2 Travel Bugs along with the usual logbook, pencil and sharpener.
